Our philosophy is to fill the role of personal and family solicitors to a wide range of clients, whether individuals or businesses, and to handle all their legal requirements in a friendly, professional and cost-effective way. Many people have a fear of going to see a solicitor. We aim to put you at ease from the start, to provide a personal service, and to be approachable.
Profile of our Firm
Runham Kirkbride Gibbs Pollard was formed in 1993, following the merger of two Bradford firms, Runham Kirkbride & Co., and Gibbs Pollard.
Runham Kirkbride & Co. was formed in 1979 by John Runham and Bryan Kirkbride. Ed Wegorzewski, having worked with the firm as an assistant solicitor, joined the partnership in 1982. He is now the firm's Managing Partner. Both John and Bryan are now Consultants with the firm.
Gibbs Pollard was established in 1966. John Dowling and Mike Kingman of Gibbs Pollard became partners in the new merged firm. The founders of Gibbs Pollard, Ken Gibbs and Don Pollard, both retired from full time practice, continued to be associated with the new firm as Consultants until 1999 when Ken Gibbs retired. Don Pollard MBE continued to serve his many clients as a consultant with the firm right up until his untimely death in August 2002. In 1999 Mike Kingman left the practice when moving to the south coast. John Dowling is our Senior Partner. In 2000 following the closure of the Bradford solicitors' firm of Listers, RKGP took on the majority of Listers' clients, and a number of their personnel joined our firm. We shortened the firm's trading name to 'Runhams' in August 2001.
In the summer of 2003, the decision was taken to cease doing publicly funded work ("legal aid").
Having run out of space to expand, the firm was looking for new premises when the opportunity arose to move to the prestigious location of Salts Mill at the heart of the World Heritage Site of Saltaire. The move was completed in March 2004.
"Talk To Us!". This has been the constant theme of our approach to serving the firm's wide and varied client base. One thing which we aim to set us apart from our competitors is our approachability. We like to extend a friendly, professional welcome and service, so that clients feel that they are known and treated as individuals and friends, not just files in the cabinet.
